CARA Leagues
There are four active Fall/Winter CARA leagues with about 270 bowlers in the metropolitan
Washington, DC area. Although the team size, numbers of
games, times and nights vary, the one thing our leagues all have in common is the goal
of having fun.
All leagues are USBC sanctioned. All the leagues are handicap leagues (a bowling league
under the United States Bowling Congress (USBC) rules that provides a handicap to level
the playing field for bowlers of different skill levels) open to bowlers
of all skill levels. In addition to bowling, many leagues hold special activities such
as holiday parties, end-of-season banquets and awards presentations. Many league members
also participate in CARA and IGBO sponsored bowling tournaments. CARA operates an Incentive
Awards Program and conducts Skill Enhancement Clinics during the bowling season. For
