CARA INTERLEAGUE CHAMPIONS
Congratulations to the 2010 CARA Interleague Championship winners, the League of Women Bowlers.
This is the league's second consecutive year winning the championship, and the first time a league has won two years in a row. Well done, ladies!

MARY RICHARDS WINS MISS IGBABE TITLE
Another DC champion was crowned in Syracuse as Mary Richards (aka Gary Deinken) won the title of MISS IGBABE 2009. The Miss IGBABE contest is IGBO's annual drag show pageant held each year during the IGBO Mid-Year Tournament. You may remember that Mary won the title of Miss CARA at the Bowled & the Beautiful drag show in September. We are so proud of Mary for bringing the crown and sash to DC. Mary will relinquish her title next year on her home turf when the IGBO Mid-Year Tournament comes to Washington. Congratulations Mary!

FORMER CARA PRESIDENT HONORED
October was a good month for former CARA President James "Hawk" Crutchfield. On October 18, he was one of three people to receive the Trailblazers Award from Team DC (www.teamdc.org) for his years of work on behalf of the local GLBT bowling community. Three days later, Hawk, who has been actively as a volunteer or leader for over 30 years in the DC GLBT community received a second award when he was one of 20 individuals recognized as a Community Pioneer by Rainbow History Project (www.rainbowhistory.org). Congratulations Hawk on your well-deserved awards!
